Center UIL Invitational Tournament at SFA

Center High School invites you to attend our Roughrider Invitational Tournament at SFA. We will be
offering a limited number of academic events on three tracks. Track one will be Math and Science
events. Track two will be Ready Writing and Journalism. Track three will be CX and LD Debate. We
will not be following the conflict pattern, but events will follow UIL rules and guidelines.

Depending on entries and judges, we will try and add a fourth round of LD.

Entries: Register at http://centeratsfa.tabroom.com  to submit your entries by noon on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Drop
without charge until 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 10. Late drops will result in the loss of the entry
fee.

Hospitality and concessions will not be provided, but the Baker Patillo Student Center will be available
which includes numerous restaurants. More information can be found at
https://www.sfasu.edu/studentservices/125.asp. There is no scheduled break for the Writing Track.

Judging Requirements: All schools must meet judging requirements or your students will not be
allowed to participate. Because this is a weekday tournament, we will not have the usual judging pool
available. Consequently, you must provide your own judges. There is no judge fee, because there is no
hired judges available. If you would like, I can try and connect you with a potential judge you can hire
directly.

Debate – one judge for every 2 entries in each event or portion thereof. CX judge cannot judge
LD and vice versa. Graders – one grader for every event entered. Judges should bring their own timing device.

Fees: CX – $30; LD – $20; Academic Events – $10
